GROUND. REVIEW. ASSESS. CREDIT. ENGAGE.

A neuroscience-informed process for showing yourself grace, challenging unhelpful thinking, recognising progress, and returning to clarity under pressure.

GRACE Reset™ is based on a simple principle:
When pressure rises, clarity can fall. When clarity falls, we can start believing everything our mind tells us. The GRACE Reset™ helps us pause, challenge the narrative, acknowledge progress, and reconnect with what is true in the present moment.

G — Ground Yourself
"Let's pause for a moment."
Not because you're giving up.
Not because you're avoiding something.
But because when pressure rises, clarity often falls.
Take a slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Notice your feet on the floor.
Notice the chair supporting you.
Look around the room.
Notice three things you can see.
Bring yourself back to where you are.
Not tomorrow.
Not next week.
Not the worst-case scenario.
Right here.
Right now.

R — Review the Story
Ask yourself:
What am I saying to myself right now?
What is the story?
What is the narrative?
What assumptions am I making?
What am I predicting?
What am I fearing?
Sometimes the loudest voice in the room is our own thinking.
And sometimes that thinking isn't giving us the full picture.

A — Assess the Evidence
Now ask:
What is the evidence for this thought?
What is the evidence against it?
Is this a fact or is this a fear?
Am I responding to what is happening now, or what I think might happen?
Remember:
Your brain is designed to scan for risk.
It is trying to protect you.
But protection and prediction are not the same thing as truth.
That's neuroscience.
Not weakness.

C — Credit Your Progress
Now ask yourself:
What progress have I overlooked?
What have I handled?
What have I learned?
What strengths have I shown?
What challenge have I navigated?
What would I have struggled with six months ago that I am handling differently today?
Because growth is not always dramatic.
Sometimes growth is:
Staying the course.
Having a difficult conversation.
Setting a boundary.
Asking for help.
Taking the next step despite uncertainty.
Progress leaves evidence.
Give yourself credit for it.

E — Engage the Next Step

Now bring yourself back to the present.
Ask:
What is actually true right now?
What is within my control?
What is one small step I can take next?
Not ten steps.
Not next month.
Just the next step.
Because clarity creates action.
And action creates momentum.

The GRACE Reset™ Reflection

Place a hand over your heart if comfortable.
And remind yourself:
"I am allowed to be a work in progress."
"I do not need to be perfect to move forward."
"I can acknowledge my effort as well as my outcomes."
"I can challenge thoughts that are not serving me."
"I can stay with the here and now."
"I have overcome challenges before."
"I have strengths, resources, and experience available to me."
"I only need enough clarity to take the next step."

The Neuroscience Behind GRACE Reset™
When we experience stress, uncertainty, or pressure, the brain's threat-detection systems become more active.
This can narrow attention, increase self-criticism, magnify risk, and make us overlook evidence of progress.
The GRACE Reset™ helps interrupt that cycle by:
Bringing attention back to the present moment.
Challenging automatic assumptions.
Broadening awareness.
Recognising evidence of capability and resilience.
Re-engaging the thinking parts of the brain responsible for perspective, decision-making, and problem-solving.
The goal is not positive thinking.
The goal is accurate thinking.
Seeing the whole picture.
Not just the fearful parts.

GRACE Reset™ Closing Question
"What is one thing I can do today that future me will be grateful I stayed committed to?"
💚 Live Empowered. Think Clearly. Decide Confidently. Move Forward.
